FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQ)

What does Pitboard do?

Track your lap times, analyze corner and straight performance, and improve your riding with detailed metrics. Use session history to pinpoint areas for improvement.

Do I need special equipment to use the app?

A sturdy phone mount or handlebar bag is essential. We recommend an anti-shake alloy or metal handlebar phone holder. Mounting on yourself may reduce data accuracy.

Can I place my phone on myself instead of the bike?

The phone needs to calibrate to the bike's lean axis, so mounting on the handlebars is best. Using a moon bag or tripper may cause inaccurate data.

What metrics are tracked?
  • Total ride time
  • Number of laps
  • Current lap time
  • Corner time
  • Straight time
  • Average lap time
  • Average corner and straight times
How do I use Pitboard's data to get faster?

Try to keep your current lap times at or below your average times to improve performance. Use the session history to monitor progress.

Does the app require internet?

No, it uses your phone’s GPS and sensors. No internet connection is needed during sessions.

How accurate is GPS tracking?

Accuracy depends on signal strength and device quality. Ensure a clear sky view and wait for GPS lock before starting.

Why aren't my laps logging?

Poor GPS signal can affect lap detection. Make sure you mostly have a strong GPS signal (green icon).

Why is the app prematurely logging laps?

Your track may be too tight. The lap detection radius is 10 meters / 32 feet; if the track runs into that radius it can cause early lap logs.

Can I review previous sessions?

Yes, all sessions are stored locally for review in the Session History tab.

What happens if I fall mid-ride?

The timers keep running. Fall detection is planned for future updates.

Can I export or share my data?

This feature is coming soon.

Can I name my sessions?

Yes, you can rename sessions after recording for easy identification.

Does the app work on all tracks?

Yes, on any outdoor lap-based track with GPS coverage.

How is a new lap detected?

Once the GPS is locked, the app uses your start position and detects when you cross a 10-meter radius around it to log laps.

Can I use the app for enduro or trail riding?

Yes, the app works best on closed-loop, lap-based tracks.
